Finch is a terminal based universal chat client. It is built on top of ncurses and libpurple. It uses a custom user interface toolkit named libgnt to make working with ncurses more like other user interface toolkits.
It is availble for all major operating systems except Microsoft Windows.
Finch is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2.
Finch currently lives inside of the Pidgin codebase but there is some movement to make it it’s own standalone project.
